 | W.A.T.E.R. seeks moratorium to protect B.C.’s groundwater.
Threatened by an application for a second water bottling plant beside the Village of Valemount, area residents were amazed to discover that there is little to no legislative protection of groundwater throughout the province of B.C. Working collectively as W.A.T.E.R. (Water Across Time our Environmental Responsibility) the group has researched and circulated information about the detrimental impacts of the bottled water industry and is determined to end the exploitation.

Located in the Student Union Building of the University of Victoria, VIPIRG is a place where students and community members connect to work together on social justice and environmental issues. |
 | Whistler Watch was formed in January 2006 in response to the proposed privatization of Whistler's existing wastewater treatment plant. They campaigned against and successfully halted the proposed P3 (public-private partnership) deal for the plant. To date, the plant remains in public hands.
